Jim Beam Peach Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 700ml

Cold, long, and over more ice than feels necessary. At 32.5% this is softer than straight bourbon and the flavour does the work, which means it needs a mixer with some acidity to keep it from turning into cordial. Chill the bottle: at room temperature the sweetness sits on top and the bourbon underneath disappears entirely.

Thirty millilitres to a hundred and fifty of mixer is the right ratio. A heavier pour does not make a better drink here, it makes a syrupy one. Serving suggestions for this particular flavour are on the Jim Beam Peach page.

Neat and warm, none of the flavoured range is much good, and this one is no exception. If you want something to sip, the straight bottles on the Jim Beam range are where to spend the money instead.

A 700ml bottle at 32.5% holds about 17.9 standard drinks. At $79.99 that is roughly $4.47 per standard drink, or $114.27 per litre of whiskey.

Beam Suntory does not distribute this expression in Australia. It is an American release, which is why you will not find it in Dan Murphy's, BWS or Liquorland, and why searching for it usually turns up unavailable listings rather than a price.

We import it directly. That is the entire reason it is listed here, and it is also the reason it costs more than the locally distributed Honey and Apple: freight, duty and small volumes all land on the price. We would rather say that than dress it up.

Imported stock arrives irregularly and in small quantities. What is listed is what is in the Sydney warehouse now.

This bottle sits in the Jim Beam Peach part of the range, and in the 700ml format alongside everything else on the Jim Beam 700ml page. Both pages carry the full context: what else is in the range, how the bottlings differ, and which one suits what you are actually doing with it.

The whole catalogue is on the shop page, which lists all 71 products with filters for size, style and price.

Wrapped individually and braced so nothing can move inside the carton. Nothing on the outside identifies the contents.
