Jim Beam Bonded Australia – Old Tub, Repeal Batch and the Bottled in Bond Bottlings
This page is honest before it is commercial. We list one bonded bottle, the Number 12 Formula 1L at 100 proof, and it is in stock. Jim Beam Old Tub and Jim Beam Repeal Batch are heritage labels we do not carry. Here is what the category means, and stock we do hold leaves Sydney same day before 3pm AEST.

Jim Beam Bonded – What Bottled in Bond Actually Requires
Bottled in bond is a legal standard, not a marketing word. To wear it, a whiskey must come from one distillery in one distilling season, age at least four years in a government supervised bonded warehouse, and bottle at exactly 100 proof, or 50% alcohol. No blending across years, no proofing down to hit a price.
That is why every bonded bottle reads 50%. It is a floor and a ceiling at once. Drinkers chase the category because a no-age-statement bourbon can legally be young and a bonded one cannot.
Jim Beam Bonded Number 12 Formula 1L – The One Bonded Bottle We Hold
Our listing is the Number 12 Formula in the blue and gold box, 1 litre, 50%, $299.00, in stock. It is a heritage release rather than a standing line, so what is here is what came through and there is no reorder behind it. On record it is oaky with vanilla and caramel behind it, medium bodied, finishing on sweet oak.
At $299.00 a litre this is $29.90 per 100mL. A litre at 50% carries 39.5 standard drinks, calculated as 1.0 x 50 x 0.789, so a 30ml nip is 1.18 and the bottle costs $7.58 per standard drink. Our read: a collector purchase, not a drinking one. The Single Barrel 108 Proof is $14.67 per 100mL, roughly half the money for comparable intensity.
Buying second hand? Check the box before the bottle. Bonded bottles get separated from their packaging constantly and the carton carries a real share of the value. Check the fill at the shoulder and walk away from a sun-bleached box.
Jim Beam Old Tub – A Heritage Label We Do Not Stock
Jim Beam Old Tub is a heritage bonded name in the Beam family and we get asked for it most weeks. We have never had it in the building and we will not publish tasting notes for a bottle we have not opened. Plenty of sites will, which is how three retailers end up quoting the same invented flavour wheel. We can source, though: tell us what you want and we will say honestly whether it is findable here.
Jim Beam Repeal Batch – The Same Honest Answer, a Different Bottle
Jim Beam Repeal Batch is the other heritage bottling here and the position is identical: not in our catalogue, not on the way, no specs we cannot stand behind.
Both labels are worth watching for a reason unrelated to us. Beam Suntory has paused production at the Clermont distillery for all of 2026 over a bourbon glut and tariffs. Bottled stock is unaffected, but heritage labels thin out first when a distillery stops filling barrels. Find one at a fair price this year and buy it. What we can box today sits in Limited Releases and Collectables.

Common questions
Not from us right now. Our Jim Beam bonded listing is the Number 12 Formula 1L at $299.00 and it is in stock. Ask us and we will try to source one: we hunt discontinued and allocated Jim Beam regularly for the decanter side of the business, and the same contacts sometimes turn up bonded stock.
The whiskey came from one distillery in one distilling season, spent at least four years in a government supervised bonded warehouse, and was bottled at exactly 100 proof. It is a legal standard, so strength and minimum age are fixed rather than chosen by the bottler.
They are different bottlings under the same bonded umbrella. Jim Beam Old Tub is a heritage label we do not stock, so we will not quote specs or tasting notes for it. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether it can be sourced here and what it would cost.
A heritage Jim Beam bottling outside our catalogue. We have never held it, so anything we wrote about how it tastes would be copied from someone else. Ask us and we will check the market. Both it and Old Tub are worth grabbing on sight given the 2026 Clermont pause.
50% alcohol by volume, or 100 proof, because the bonded standard fixes it there exactly. That is stronger than every other Jim Beam we list: White Label is 37%, Black Extra Aged, Rye and Devil's Cut 40%, the flavoured bottles 32.5%. A 30ml nip is 1.18 Australian standard drinks.
